Bar refused to serve me
I am a Simba fan and a couple of weeks ago our arch nemesis Yanga was removed from a tournament. I had placed a bet with a friend (a Yanga fan) that if his team did not qualify, he would buy me five crates of beer. After the match, we went to a high-end bar to claim the bet. I had several drinks before the bar attendants refused to serve me, claiming it is a crime to do so. I don’t get it! Why did they refuse to serve more beer? Please clarify.

It is difficult to find the reason why they refused to serve you more beer based on the information provided. However, we can speculate that you might have been intoxicated or disorderly such that it was no longer permissible to continue serving you. You might be surprised to learn that it is an offence to serve a drunken person intoxicating liquor. Sections 71 and 74 of the Intoxicating Liquor Act, (Act No. 28 of 1968) make it an offence to serve liquor to a drunk or disorderly person. It is also an offense to allow such a person entry to a place selling liquor. The law even permits their removal by reasonable force. We think this might be the reason for their refusal. Your lawyer may offer you further clarity.
